Zoo Negara is 15 mins drive from Ampang. Its really a big one sprawling across several acres and has an aquarium, snake park, bee museum , amphitheatre , children’s world in addition to the normal exhibits of animals. Most of the animals are kept in the open and spacious area allowing them to move freely. There are 2 options to explore this place – one by walk and another by shuttle service.

As we chose to walk , we visited exhibits of malaysian elephants, lake birds – stork & swan, giraffes, white rhino, hippopotamus, sumataran orangutans & chimpanzees , deer, African lions, tigers and penguins. We had to skip few as it started raining and one among that is the multi animal show at the amphitheatre.
