Boat ride at Clarke Quay,Singapore

If u need a history lesson on how singapore was earlier during the colonial era and how it has changed in the modern times, u can definitely take a boat ride at Clarke Quay. Once a fishing village , later developed into a busy seaport in the colonial period. This was the time when godowns and large warehouses were built on river sides. Later in 1970′s government decided to move the busy trade center to Pasir Panjang and started to clean up the river. It took them more than 10 years to change this place from seaport to hot tourist destination. All the old buildings – godowns and warehouses were restored to their original structures and later converted to most popular dining and entertainment destinations.  This boat ride would definitely be a pleasant experience and sure u would enjoy the contrast between the rich heritage of old singapore and new skyscrapers of modern singapore.
